Suburban train services across Mumbai will be regulated, diverted, or partially suspended on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as Central Railway and Western Railway carry out scheduled maintenance work and crucial infrastructure upgrades. The mega block will affect suburban operations along the Central Main Line, Harbour Line, and Western Line, while the Trans-Harbour and Uran corridors will operate without any disruption.

Commuters travelling on Sunday have been advised to plan journeys in advance, as local trains running via diverted tracks will operate with delays of up to 15 minutes. Mumbai Mega Block on October 11:

Central Line: Slow Track Diversions Between Matunga and Mulund

Central Railway will operate a mega block on UP and DOWN slow lines between Matunga and Mulund from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm.

DOWN slow line services leaving CSMT Mumbai from 10:14 hrs to 15:32 hrs will be diverted onto the DOWN fast line between Matunga and Mulund stations, halting at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, and Mulund. UP slow line services leaving Thane from 11:07 hrs to 15:51 hrs will be diverted onto the UP fast line at Mulund, halting at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, and Sion before shifting back to the UP slow line at Matunga, also arriving 15 minutes late. All UP and DOWN locals departing or arriving at CSMT between 11:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs will reach their destinations approximately 15 minutes behind schedule.

Central Line: Asangaon–Kasara Block and Service Regulation

Special traffic and power blocks will operate between Asangaon and Kasara from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm. These form part of Central Railway's planned blocks from October 7 to 18 for pre-non-interlocking, non-interlocking, and post-non-interlocking work related to the Asangaon–Kasara third-line project and the extension of the UP yard line towards Igatpuri.

As a result, several suburban services will be short-terminated or short-originated:

  • CSMT–Kasara locals departing CSMT at 13:10 hrs, 14:17 hrs, and 14:46 hrs will short terminate at Asangaon.

  • Kasara–CSMT locals scheduled to depart Kasara at 15:35 hrs, 16:16 hrs, and 17:02 hrs will short originate from Asangaon at 16:12 hrs, 16:54 hrs, and 17:39 hrs respectively.

  • The Kasara–CSMT local scheduled to leave Kasara at 18:17 hrs will depart 13 minutes late.

Harbour Line: CSMT to Bandra and Chunabhatti Services Suspended

On the Harbour Line, traffic will be suspended between CSMT and Bandra/Chunabhatti on UP and DOWN tracks from 11:10 am to 4:40 pm.

DOWN Harbour line services to Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel leaving CSMT between 11:16 hrs and 16:47 hrs, as well as DOWN services to Bandra and Goregaon departing CSMT between 10:48 hrs and 16:43 hrs, will remain suspended.

UP Harbour line services bound for CSMT leaving Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi from 09:53 hrs to 15:20 hrs, and services from Goregaon and Bandra departing between 10:45 hrs and 17:13 hrs, will also remain suspended.

During the block period:

  • Special local trains will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No. 8) at a 20-minute frequency.

  • Trans-Harbour line services will operate as per schedule between Thane and Vashi/Nerul.

  • Port line services between Nerul/Belapur and Uran will operate normally.

  • Harbour line commuters holding valid tickets or passes are permitted to travel via the Central Main Line and Western Railway between 10:00 hrs and 18:00 hrs.

Western Line: Vangaon Block Triggers Cancellations and Short Terminations

Western Railway will execute non-interlocking work for commissioning electronic interlocking at Vangaon station from 08:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs in connection with the Virar–Dahanu Road quadrupling project.

Several Local Trains Will Remain Fully Cancelled on Sunday, October 11:

  • Virar – Dahanu Road local departing Virar at 09:30 hrs.

  • Borivali – Dahanu Road local departing Borivali at 10:26 hrs.

  • Virar – Dahanu Road local departing Virar at 12:20 hrs.

  • Dahanu Road – Virar local departing Dahanu Road at 10:35 hrs.

  • Dahanu Road – Churchgate local departing Dahanu Road at 12:52 hrs.

  • Dahanu Road – Virar local departing Dahanu Road at 12:25 hrs.

  • Dahanu Road – Churchgate local departing Dahanu Road at 14:02 hrs.

Four trains will be short-terminated:

  • Churchgate – Dahanu Road local departing Churchgate at 08:49 hrs will short terminate at Boisar (cancelled between Boisar and Dahanu Road).

  • Churchgate – Dahanu Road local departing Churchgate at 10:03 hrs will short terminate at Palghar (cancelled between Palghar and Dahanu Road).

  • Virar – Dahanu Road locals departing Virar at 12:00 hrs and 13:20 hrs will short terminate at Boisar (cancelled between Boisar and Dahanu Road).

Additionally, two trains will short-originate:

  • Dahanu Road – Virar local scheduled to leave Dahanu Road at 11:30 hrs will originate from Boisar at 12:03 hrs.

  • Dahanu Road – Dadar local scheduled to leave Dahanu Road at 15:18 hrs will originate from Boisar at 15:40 hrs.

To assist stranded commuters, Western Railway will operate two extra suburban services for Virar departing from Palghar at 13:00 hrs and from Boisar at 14:00 hrs.
