NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 Results: AAP and Congress Amplify NEET Candidate Arya Singh's Claims of Score Discrepancies
Political parties AAP and Congress are highlighting NEET-UG 2026 score discrepancies, focusing on aspirant Arya Singh, who claims her score dropped from 609 to 167. The NTA has denied tampering, warning against the submission of fake or AI-generated OMR sheets and noting that some grievances involve manipulated evidence as they continue to review merit-based complaints.
The controversy surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 examination has intensified as major political parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, have begun amplifying claims of score discrepancies raised by students. The surge in political engagement follows allegations from a Kanpur-based aspirant, Arya Singh, who claims her final score was drastically altered after the National Testing Agency (NTA) corrected an initial sequencing error on her OMR sheet.
The Case of NEET Candidate Arya Singh
Arya Singh, a NEET-UG aspirant from Kanpur, alleges that her experience with the examination results was marked by significant inconsistency. According to Singh, she initially calculated a score of 609 marks after identifying and reporting a question-sequencing error on her OMR sheet, which the NTA subsequently corrected on its portal. Congress Amplified Case of NEET Candidate Araya Singh
ये कानपुर की आर्या सिंह हैं, जिनका कहना है कि Re-NEET के रिजल्ट में गड़बड़ी और धांधली हुई है।
आर्या ने बताया 👇

However, Singh claims that the situation became confusing on the day of the result declaration. "I had checked my OMR sheet after it was corrected and my score was 609. On the result day, I first saw 540 marks, and then within two hours it became 167," she stated in a video appeal. Her final scorecard, as reflected on the NTA website, currently displays 167 marks. Singh and her family have since submitted formal complaints to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Union Education Minister, and the NTA, requesting a fair verification of her records.

Political Backing and Social Media Amplification
The AAP and Congress have leveraged these claims to sharpen their criticism of the NTA’s management of the medical entrance process. By sharing Singh’s video testimony, these parties are calling for greater transparency and accountability from the examination authority. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), AAP said, "National Trauma Agency The country is asking for an answer- Is this document created by AI?", whereas the Congress party said, "Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan ji... Is this the 'system' you arranged the air force for to conduct Re-NEET?"
NTA’s Stance Amid Rising Grievances
The allegations surrounding Arya Singh’s scorecard coincide with a broader wave of complaints from across the country, where multiple students have reported significant gaps between their expected and declared scores. In response to the growing unrest, the NTA recently issued a stern advisory warning candidates against submitting fake or AI-generated OMR sheets. The agency stated that its verification processes have identified several instances of manipulated documents being submitted as part of grievance petitions. While the NTA continues to review merit-based complaints, it has warned that those submitting fabricated evidence may face legal consequences. As of now, the agency has not provided a specific public response regarding the individual case of Arya Singh.
