Nalanda, June 29: An angry mob pelted stones at a hospital and vandalised vehicles including an ambulance after a newborn went missing from there. The child is of a woman who had come to Primary Health Centre in Islampur of Bihar's Nalanda district for delivery. Angered over disappearance of the child, relatives of the woman and others ransacked hospital properties and pelted stones.

According to reports, the woman came to the hospital for delivery of her child last night. Her family alleged that the newborn was stolen by another woman from the hospital. As the news spread, a crowd gathered outside the hospital and started pelting stones. The angry mob vandalised several vehicles including an ambulance which were parked at the hospital premises. Bihar: 30 Killed, Over Dozen Injured in Lightning Strikes.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, the crowd is seen pelting stones and vandalising hospital properties. As vandalism started, the police arrived at the spot and dispersed the crowd. "The situation was soon brought under control. Police is investigating the matter," said Vaibhav Chaudhary, SDO, Hilsa, Nalanda.
