A video of the incident showed Jain standing near the railing before jumping from the 43rd floor of the Spira Tower. Another person can be seen attempting to stop him and pulling him away from the railing, but Jain reportedly refused to listen. Police said Jain died on the spot after falling to the ground floor. His family has been informed and a post-mortem examination is underway. Police officers and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team inspected the site and collected evidence. CCTV footage from the building and nearby areas is also being examined as part of the investigation.
Police said inquiries with people present at the spot indicated that Jain was under severe financial stress. Officials also said he had called his father multiple times before taking the extreme step. The incident has once again drawn attention to deaths from the Supernova towers. In August last year, a 23-year-old law student from Delhi died after falling from the 32nd floor while staying in a flat. Earlier, in January 2023, a 43-year-old Delhi property consultant died after falling from the 43rd floor of the under-construction upper section of the Supernova Spira Tower during a site visit.
Supernova is a 68-storey complex in Noida and is among the tallest residential buildings in the Delhi-NCR region.
