As per PTI, the incident took place on September 26 in the Chinchani area, said an official from the Vangaon police station. The victim, a Class 12 student, had left her residence earlier that day to attend academic classes when the two juveniles reportedly intercepted her. Shopkeeper Alerts Family After Beverage Allegedly Spiked
In his complaint to the police, the father of the girl, a Class 12 student, said his daughter left home in the morning to attend private coaching classes before going to college. At around 3:30 pm, he received a call from his wife, who had been alerted by a local shop owner that their daughter had been seen with two minor boys at an eatery near Vangaon Naka.
The complainant further asserted, “The shopkeeper said the boys allegedly forced her to consume a spiked beverage before taking her away in a vehicle towards the Chinchani beach,” as cited by PTI.
Family Intervenes at Chinchani Beach Front
Acting on the tip-off, family members rushed immediately toward the coastal stretch in search of the student. When the family reached the seafront, they found their daughter dazed and one of the boys behaving with her inappropriately.
The intervention prevented further harm, and the family subsequently escorted the teenager away from the location to seek medical assistance and report the matter to law enforcement authorities.
Police Initiate Legal Action Against Juveniles
The police official said, "The father alleged that the boys brought her to the beach to s*xually assault her after spiking her drink. The juveniles have been booked and further probe is underway," as per PTI.
Investigators from the Vangaon police station have initiated procedures under relevant juvenile justice and criminal legal frameworks, while medical examinations and witness statements from the eatery are being compiled as part of the ongoing probe.
