Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that he will participate in the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday, October 10. The demonstration has been called against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Speaking to reporters in Goa, Kejriwal accused the BJP-led Central government of undermining democracy by allegedly deleting voters' names on a large scale and adding fake votes. He called for Gyanesh Kumar's resignation and urged people across the country to participate in the protest.

"The whole country is demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. I appeal to the people of the nation to go to Jantar Mantar in large numbers. This is not a matter concerning one person or one party, this is about the country," Kejriwal said. CJP Protest: SC Asks Centre To Keep Delhi Metro, Train Services Running in Regulated Manner.

CJP Protest in Delhi: Why Is It Being Held?

The CJP has called the protest against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The demonstration comes amid opposition criticism of the voter-roll revision exercise and demands for accountability from the Election Commission.

Kejriwal alleged that voters who do not support the BJP are facing mass deletion of their names, while fake votes are being added. These were allegations made by the AAP leader. Delhi Police Denies CJP Permission for October 10 Jantar Mantar Protest Over Gyanesh Kumar; Cites Public Safety.

Delhi Metro, Train Restrictions Ahead of October 10 Protest

Authorities have imposed restrictions ahead of the planned demonstration, citing the denial of permission for the gathering and concerns over crowds assembling at Jantar Mantar.

The measures include restrictions affecting train services at railway stations in the national capital and the planned closure of several Delhi Metro station entrances and exits from Friday evening.

The Supreme Court on Friday raised concerns over the restrictions, warning that the closure of Metro stations could inconvenience thousands of commuters. It asked the Centre to ensure there was no complete stoppage of train services to Delhi or shutdown of Metro stations and directed authorities to regulate services instead.

The court's intervention came a day before the planned protest, as authorities prepared security arrangements while facing concerns over disruptions to public transport.
