Maharashtra, July 25: A 55-year-old woman died in Dahanu area of Palghar district after wall of a house collapsed on him, in the earthquake that took place last night. An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 on the Richter scale struck the Palghar area in Maharashtra on Thursday. According to an ANI tweet, the quake hit the region around 1:15 AM today. Reportedly, four earthquakes hit the region today. A magnitude 3.8 earthquake shook Dahanu in the Talasari belt of Palghar district at 1:03 am and was followed by 3.6, 2.9 and 2.8 till 1:15 am. The tremors were felt in Boisar as well. Residents couldn't move out of their homes because it was raining outside.

Palghar area was hit with an earthquake last week. On July 20, a quake measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale had struck the region. The Palghar district in northern Maharastra was in a state of panic in February as it was rocked by a series of minor earthquakes.
