Mumbai, November 29: The fuel prices dipped once again in metros on Thursday, giving respite to the consumers. The price for petrol dipped by 50 paise in the national capital and same took place for Mumbai. With this, the current price of petrol in New Delhi on Thursday reached to Rs 73.57 per litre, while for Mumbai it was Rs 79.12 per litre, according to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) data.

The reduction of prices in diesel was also observed. There was a dip in the price of diesel by 40 paise in New Delhi, while for Mumbai it was 42 paise. With this, the price for diesel in the national capital reached to Rs 68.49 per litre and for Mumbai it was Rs 71.71 per litre. '28% GST + VAT' if Petrol, Diesel Brought Under Goods & Services Tax Regime: Report

Also, the rates changed in Chennai and Kolkata. In Chennai, the price of petrol decreased by 53 paise and is being sold at Rs 76.35 per litre. For Kolkata, the price dipped by 49 paise and it is being sold at Rs 75.57 per litre.

The price for diesel too decreased in Chennai and Kolkata. In Chennai, the price of diesel decreased by 43 paise, while for Kolkata it dipped by 40 paise. With the current reduction in price, the diesel being sold in Chennai at Rs 72.34 per litre and in Kolkata it is sold at Rs 70.34 per litre.

There has been continuous dip in the fuel prices for the past one month, with the international rates being slashed. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced a reduction of Rs 2.50 per litre on both petrol and diesel prices. The minister had also requested the state government to reduce the price of fuel for people’s convenience.
