New Delhi, February 20: Global powers Russia and France have condemned the Pulwama terror attack and supported India’s move at the UN to declare Masood Azhar a global terrorist. Russian Minister Denis Manturov on Wednesday, when asked if Russia will support India in the United Nations Security Council to declare Jaish-E-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as global Terrorist,  said that Russia supports India when it comes to confronting terror and defeating it. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Urges India, Pakistan to Defuse Tensions.

Meanwhile, France is also set to move proposal at the UN to include Masood Azhar in the global terrorist list. This will be the second time that France will move such a proposal at the UN, according to news agency PTI. Earlier in 2017, the US, supported by France and the United Kingdom, had moved a proposal to ban Azhar. But, the proposal was blocked by China, which holds the veto power in the UN Security Council.

This comes after the Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-E-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack on CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) convoy in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 40 jawans.
