Referring to the demonstration, Bidhuri alleged that the gathering comprised more "puncture banane wale" (tyre puncture repairers) and "tala banane wale" (locksmiths) than actual students. Bidhuri further alleged that "anti-social elements" had misled members of Gen Z into participating in the protest under the guise of the NEET issue and accused them of attempting to create unrest.
The remarks quickly sparked criticism from opposition leaders and several social media users.
