Mumbai, October 4: A college student paid dearly for a friendship on an online app. On Sunday, October 1, 2023, a 21-year-old engineering student was allegedly robbed and forced into unnatural sex by three miscreants in the Bhosari MIDC area of Pune. The victim, who is a fourth-year student at a prominent engineering college in Talegaon Dabhade, had come to Vishrantwadi to meet his relatives. While returning home, he missed his train at Pune station and was waiting for the next train when he came in contact with the accused while chatting with random people on social media.

According to a report published by the Hindustan Times, the accused proposed that they meet near Sassoon Hospital Gate. From there, the three accused met the victim and took him in their car. When they reached a deserted place near the Bhosari MIDC area, they allegedly threatened the victim with a sickle and forced him to transfer Rs 28,500 to their account via online payment. The victim also mentioned in his complaint that the accused forced him into having unnatural sex. Later, the accused threatened to kill the victim if he went to the police. The report said the police are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the culprits responsible for the disturbing incident. Preliminary descriptions of the suspects are being circulated, and CCTV footage from the area is being examined to help the investigation. Earlier this week, Pune police rescued a woman and two minors, including a young girl, who had been held captive as sex slaves in a house near Lonavla’s Kusgaon area for three weeks. During the investigation, police arrested Raj Siddheshwar Shinde (25) and Dnyaneshwar Rambhau Lokre (41) from Maval taluka, along with two juveniles in connection with the crime.
