Mohali, January 14: A man in his thirties allegedly shot himself on thigh after his girlfriend refused to accompany him for a night out outside the city. This incident occurred on Friday in Punjab's Mohali. The man identified as Sarabjit earlier tried to mislead police with a fake story. The woman, a resident of Dhuri, present in the car with Sarbajit is the eye witness of the episode. The woman said that Sarabjit was forcing her to accompany her outside Mohali, but when she refused he threatened to shot himself. Fearing arrest, Sarabjit cooked up a story and told police officials some miscreants tried to snatch his pistol in a park at Phase 7 at 11 pm on Friday, open fire at him. The police officials didn't believe him as the weapon was recovered from his car and if someone would have attacked him, he would have not left without a weapon.
