A leopard entered a liquor shop in Todaraisingh town of Rajasthan’s Tonk district on Sunday morning, attacking three people before it was trapped inside the outlet by a salesman. The animal was later rescued by a forest department team from Jaipur following a five-hour operation.
The incident began at around 8:45 am after local residents reported spotting the leopard hiding in bushes in the town. Officials said the animal later moved into a nearby commercial area, where it attacked multiple people before being confined inside the liquor shop. Leopard First Attacks Forest Volunteer
According to officials, Van Mitra (forest volunteer) Rakesh received information from residents that a leopard had been seen hiding in bushes in Todaraisingh town.

Two More Injured at Liquor Shop
The leopard first attacked Fateh Lal Koli (40), who was sitting outside the liquor shop. It then entered the shop and attacked salesman Sanjay Gurjar (25).
Despite the attack, Sanjay managed to escape and succeeded in locking the leopard inside the shop, preventing it from moving further into the area.
Forest Team Conducts Rescue Operation
After receiving information about the incident, a forest department rescue team from Jaipur reached the location at around 2 pm.
Following a rescue operation lasting nearly five hours, officials safely captured and rescued the leopard from inside the liquor shop.
Injured Undergoing Treatment
Local residents immediately shifted all three injured persons to a nearby hospital following the attacks.
Officials said Rakesh was discharged after receiving first aid, while Sanjay Gurjar and Fateh Lal Koli were referred to another hospital for further treatment.
News of the leopard's presence spread quickly through Todaraisingh town, drawing a large crowd to the area.
Forest officials are expected to investigate how the leopard entered the populated locality. Such incidents occasionally occur in areas located near forest habitats, where wild animals may stray into human settlements in search of food, water or shelter.
