New Delhi, May 1: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval's son Shaurya Doval has been accorded with Z-security cover. Junior Doval will be guarded by 15-16 commandos where ever he travels across the country. The decision was taken in view of potential threat to him. According to a report by PTI, Shaurya was brought under mobile security cover of central paramilitary force after a security perception report concluded that he faced "threats from people inimical to his father and others". The 43-year-old will be guarded under the 'Z' category VIP cover. NSA Ajit Doval has a Z plus security cover which was accorded to him four years ago. Similarly, the government has given limited period security cover to some BJP candidates contesting in West Bengal. BJP Lok Sabha candidate Aupam Hazar contesting polls from Jadavpur and Arun Singh fielded rom Barrackpore has been given 'Y+' security cover.

Minister of State (MoS) in the Union cabinet and candidate from Durgapur S S Ahluwalia, Ghatal seat candidate Bharti Ghosh, and Cooch Behar candidate Nishit Pramanik has been given Y+ security cover comprising of 5-6 armed commandoes. BJP candidate from North 24 Parganas has been accorded with 'Y' security cover while Dulal Chandra Bar and Khagen Murmu are given 'X' category cover, that entails about two or three commandos with an escort vehicle.

All the politicians who have got the security cover in West Bengal will have armed CISF commandos with them till the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections get over and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed to withdraw the security cover from them by May or June.
