Earlier on Friday, Nankana Sahib police had said that Sikh girl had returned home to her parents and eight people in connection with the incident have been arrested. The incident came to light on Thursday when Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA, Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared a video of the girl's family alleging that the girl was kidnapped and forcefully converted.
