New Delhi, November 28: While Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Union Minister for Food Processing and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsmirat Kaur Badal left for the Kartarpur corridor ceremony in Pakistan, Minister of External Affairs  Sushma Swaraj made it clear that dialogue won't take place between India and Pakistan. Swaraj added saying that for many years, the Indian Government has been asking for Kartarpur corridor and it's only now that Pakistan has responded positively. On Wednesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will lay the foundation stone at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor in Pakistan. According to reports, the corridor will link Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, in Narowal district of Pakistan's Punjab province, the final resting place of Sikh faith's founder Guru Nanak, and the international border with India, facilitating Sikh pilgrims across the border. Sushma Swaraj Won't Attend Kartarpur Corridor Opening in Pakistan, Nominates Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Singh Puri.

On Tuesday, Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu arrived in Pakistan for the foundation stone laying event of the Kartarpur Corridor.  It must be noted that the issue of Kartarpur Sahib came into focus after Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu visited Pakistan in August to attend the oath-taking ceremony of his friend, Imran Khan as prime minister of Pakistan. Kartarpur Corridor: PM Narendra Modi Invokes Berlin Wall, Says Diplomatic Move Can Connect People Together.

Scores of Sikh devotees from India visit Pakistan every year to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesman Mohammad Faisal on Tuesday informed that the Kartarpur Corridor will facilitate the visa-free travel of Indian Sikh pilgrims to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.

Reports inform that Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan is located across the river Ravi. Established by the Sikh Guru in 1522, it is about four kilometres from the Dera Baba Nanak shrine. The first Gurdwara, Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, was built here, where Guru Nanak Dev is said to have died.
