Chennai, December 26: A girl student allegedly stabbed her mother to death after she stopped her from eloping with her Facebook 'boyfriend', the police said on Tuesday. The incident took place at a village in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. The accused Devi Priya and two friends of her boyfriend were arrested in connection with the murder.

According to the police, Priya had fallen in love with Vivek. They became friends on social networking site Facebook. Priya wanted him to take her to his hometown. Vivek, who apparently works at a garment shop, told her that he would not be able to come and sent two of his friends Satish and Vignesh to her house to pick her up, the police said. 26-yr-old Man Stabbed to Death in South Delhi.

While Priya was getting ready to elope, her mother Banumathy noticed that she had packed her bags. Banumathy confronted her and tried to stop her from running away. Angry at being stopped, Priya took the kitchen knife and stabbed her mother to death, the police said, as reported by news agency ANI. Meghalaya PWD Official Stabbed.

But, as soon as the boys planned to escape, the villagers spotted the blood stains on their shirt and arrested them, the police said. The three were handed over to the police. A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered.
