Details of the Allegations
Ibrahimpatnam police registered the case based on a complaint by Mamillapalli Sivakranthi Kumar, a resident of the area who had been living in the UK. Kumar alleged that he transferred about INR 15 lakh in multiple instalments in 2023 to bank accounts linked to Destiny Consultancy, which was reportedly associated with Madhukar and Nandana. He claimed the money was paid for help with a UK visa extension, employment assistance, and a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
According to the complaint, the promised services did not materialise, a CoS document provided to him was found to be fraudulent, and only INR 2 lakh was refunded after repeated demands. Police named Madhukar as the primary accused, Nandana as the second, and Mohan Rao as the third under charges of cheating and related offences. Authorities later initiated steps to issue lookout circulars to prevent the accused from leaving the country.
Police Action and Next Steps
RGIA police detained Nandana upon her arrival at the airport after immigration officials flagged the lookout notice. Officials said she will be transferred to Ibrahimpatnam police for investigation. The case first came to public attention in June 2026, though the complaint was filed earlier. Reports indicated that police had been examining whether additional people were affected, as social media claims suggested other individuals may have paid money for similar promises of UK jobs or visa support. Those claims remain under investigation. SIM Box Cyber Fraud Busted in Andhra Pradesh; INR 20 Crore Scam Uncovered by Police, 20 Arrested With Foreign Links.
Nandana's Video Response
Nandana has denied the allegations. In a video statement released earlier, she said neither she nor her husband owns or runs Destiny Consultancy and that their names were misused. She described the claims as part of a targeted smear campaign arising from personal disputes. The couple also approached the High Court seeking to quash the FIR. The investigation is ongoing. Police have not released further official comments on the detention beyond confirming the custody and transfer plans.
