Lucknow, July 23: A three-month-old baby died on Monday after her mother threw him down from the fourth floor of King George Medical University (KGMU) Trauma Centre in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, where the baby was admitted. The incident came to light when the woman alarmed that her child was missing. Reacting quickly, the police started an investigation. During the investigation, cops noticed the woman's behaviour was suspicious following which she was detained. Later she admitted throwing baby from the 4th floor. She alleged that she was disturbed due to his continuous medical treatment for liver ailment and jaundice.

"Husband of the woman has filed a complaint and an FIR has been lodged. He had said in his complaint that his wife was troubled with the continuous medical treatment of their son, so she threw him off the 4th floor. He died on spot. Action being taken," ASP (west) Vikas Chandra Tripathi said.

The baby was born on April 23 at the Baba Raghav Das (BRB) Hospital in Gorakhpur. However, soon after birth, he was diagnosed with jaundice and was admitted to King George Medical University after suffering damage to the liver.
