Jaipur, October 15: Amid the Zika Virus outbreak in Rajasthan, 60 out of 72 positive cases have been cured. According to a tweet by ANI, over 280 teams of medical and health department have been conducting surveys in affected areas in the state. Reports inform that till now, nearly 96,000 houses have been surveyed. Earlier today, a Rajasthan health department informed that 12 new cases of Zika virus were detected in Jaipur, taking the total number of infected people to 72. Reports inform that most of the cases have been reported from Shastri Nagar area. According to a PTI report, door-to-door survey of 96,000 households has been conducted in Shastri Nagar and neighbouring localities so far. As per details by officials, 68 challans, amounting to Rs 44,000 penalty were issued after finding larvae in houses. It must be noted that the Ziak Virus is transmitted through aedes aegypti mosquito, causes fever, skin rashes, conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain. It is harmful to pregnant women as it can lead to microcephaly, a condition in which a baby’s head is significantly smaller than expected.
