Mumbai, October 2: Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, several posters of Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray greeting people 'How are you Worli' were seen across Mumbai. The posters that were put up by Shiv Sena in the metropolis stated 'How are you Worli?' in different languages including Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Urdu. In one of the posters, it was written 'Kem Cho Worli (How are you Worli)?' in Gujarati, in the other, it was written, 'Namaste Worli' in Marathi. Aditya Thackeray, son of Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray, will contest the Assembly elections from Worli in Mumbai. The 288-member Maharashtra Assembly will go to the polls on October 21 while the results will be declared on October 24. The Worli seat is currently represented by Sena MLA Sunil Shinde. Earlier, it was held by former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) minister Sachin Ahir, who left the NCP to join the Shiv Sena two months ago.

The 29-year old grandson of Shiv Sena founder late Bal Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray is the first member from the Thackeray family to enter the electoral fray after Shalini Thackeray, the wife of Jeetendra Thackeray, a cousin of MNS founder Raj Thackeray, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Aaditya was appointed as the Yuva Sena President in 2010 and was subsequently named a 'leader' of the Shiv Sena in 2018.
