Ranchi, December 18: Lobin Hembrom of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was elected as an MLA from Borio assembly seat of Jharkhand. Lobin Hembrom defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Surya Narayan Hansada. The Borio seat was previously held by Tala Marandi who contested as All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) candidate. For the five-phased Jharkhand assembly elections, the JMM has formed an alliance with the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). According to the seat-sharing arrangement, the JMM will contest  43 in the 81-member house, while the Congress will fight 31. Congress won seven seats and the JMM 19. Eight seats were won by the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik). However, six of their legislators joined the BJP in 2015. Elections for 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand are being held in five phases.
