New Delhi, June 22: The Indian National Congress (INC) on FridayĀ appointed Mallikarjun Kharge as the Maharashtra Congress in-charge.Ā Congress President Rahul Gandhi also appointed JD Seelam and Mahendra Joshi as the Secretary and Shashi Kant Sharma as the Joint Secretary, All India Congress Committee (AICC) attached with the General Secretary, Incharge Organisation.

Mapanna Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress floor leader in the Lok Sabha is the formerĀ Minister of RailwaysĀ and Minister of Labour and Employment in theĀ Government of India. Kharge is a member of theĀ Indian National CongressĀ (INC) and has been aĀ Member of the parliamentĀ forĀ Gulbarga,Ā KarnatakaĀ since 2009.

KhargeĀ is a senior Karnataka politician and was the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly prior to contesting theĀ 2014 General Elections. Prior to that he was the President ofĀ Karnataka Pradesh Congress CommitteeĀ during the 2008 Karnataka State Assembly Elections.
