New Delhi, May 26: Four years into the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, but the amount of anti-incumbency remains negligent, if judged as per the outcomes of the latest survey conducted by the Times Group. 71.9 per cent of the participants in an online poll conducted by the media house claim they will "vote again for the BJP" in 2019.

The survey was conducted between May 23-25 in 9 languages across all regional digital media platforms of the Times Group. The total number of participants, TOI claims, were 8,44,646. Unlike most online polls, the live trends were not available for participants, in a bid to discourage motivated voting.

  • Who will you vote as PM candidate if elections were to be held today?

71.95 per cent of the respondents said their choice will remain Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 11.6 per cent said they are in favour of Rahul Gandhi presiding over as the next PM. Interestingly, 16.9 per cent said they would want to see someone else (other than Modi and Gandhi) as next Prime Minister.

  • How would you rate the performance of Modi government so far?

Two-thirds of the respondents were overwhelmingly impressed by the performance of the incumbent government at the Centre. 47.47 per cent said it has been 'very good', whereas, 20.60 per cent rated it as 'good'. On the other hand, 20.55 per cent claimed it was 'poor' and only 11.38 per cent rated it as 'average'.

  • What has been the single-most important decision taken by the Modi government?

33.42 per cent said 'implementation of GST' was the most crucial step, followed by 21.9 per cent voting for 'demonetisation'. 19.89 per cent said the 'surgical strikes on Pakistan' was the single most successful decision taken by the government.

  • Would a united Opposition be able to defeat the Narendra Modi-led NDA?

A whopping 57.2 per cent of the respondents believe that even if the Opposition fights the next general elections under a pre-poll pact, they would fail in the defeating the BJP. On the other hand, 28.96 per cent claim a 'united Opposition' will succeed in dislodging the BJP regime. The remaining participants said they 'can't say' what would be the outcome in such a scenario.

  • How do you rate Modi government's approach on employment?

37.29 per cent of the participants claim the efforts taken by the government to address the unemployment woes has been 'satisfactory'. However, 36.03 per cent said the efforts have remained 'poor'.

Among other major takeaways of the survey are: 59.4 per cent believe minorities are 'not insecure' under the Modi government; 62.3 per cent have rated the Centre's foreign policy as 'very good'; 55 per cent claim their 'live has improved' after Modi became the PM in 2014.
