Bengaluru, May 14: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the seats of Moodabidri, Puttur, Bantwal, Belthangady, Mangalore City North, and Sullia in the district of Mangalore. Congress could manage to secure a victory only in the Mangalore city constituency. Check full list of winning candidates below.

In the last assembly elections, a reciprocate outcome was witnessed with the BJP winning all seats barring Sullia. Ahead of the polls this year, Mangalore district, along with the entire coastal belt of Karnataka, had witnessed massive communal polarisation.

Apart from development and governance, the alleged political killings in the Mangalore belt was also intensively referred to by the BJP in the campaign trail. Dakshina Kannada, over the past few years, has witnessed violence between the cadres of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), associates and the Popular Front of India (PFI), along with its political wing - the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
