New Delhi, October 24: The counting of votes for Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 began at 8 am on Thursday. In Haryana, a total voter turnout of 68.31 per cent was reported in Assembly elections. The total vote count included 69.36 per cent men voters and 67.12 per cent women. In Maharashtra, a total voter turnout of 57 per cent was recorded for elections to 288 assembly seats. However, reports stated that the voter turnout may cross 60 percent by late on Monday night since voting was still on in some constituencies.

The term of the 288-member Maharashtra assembly ends on November 9 and that of the 90-member Haryana assembly on November 2. The assembly elections are the first after Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the BJP to power at the Centre for a second term in May 2019.
