New Delhi, October 21: The Modi wave of 2014, which further intensified in the 2019 general elections, is now apparently turning into a tsunami. All major exit polls released on Monday predicted a historic mandate for the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The saffron camp is expected to dominate all corners of Maharashtra and Haryana, with the Opposition likely to be reduced to its lowest strength in the two assemblies in the last couple of decades. In Maharashtra, where the BJP is contesting in alliance with the Shiv Sena, the coalition is predicted to win at least more than 200 constituencies. The Congress-NCP combine, which faced a spree of desertions ahead of the polls, is expected to win less than 80 seats by most of the post-election surveys. In Haryana, the rout for Congress and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) is expected to be worse than 2014. Either of the parties are not expected to cross the single-digit mark. In some of the surveys, the anti-BJP bloc is not even being spared the Leader of Opposition post.

What Major Exit Polls Have Predicted For Maharashtra?
