Lucknow, March 8: Hours after issuing the first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019, the Samajwadi Party on Friday released another list, revealing their three top femaleĀ leadersĀ who would be in the electoral fray. The list names Dimple Yadav, the wife of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, as the candidate from Kannauj. Usha Verma and Purvi Verma have been fielded from Hardoi and Khiri constituencies, respectively.
Dimple, 41, was elected to the Parliament for the first time in 2014. She had won the electoral contest from Kannauj, despite the Narendra Modi wave which swept across the length and breadth of Uttar Pradesh. Check the Candidates Named by Samajwadi Party in First List.

Earlier in the day,Ā the SP released its first list of six candidates for theĀ Lok SabhaĀ polls in Uttar Pradesh, fielding party founderĀ Mulayam Singh YadavĀ from its strongholdĀ Mainpuri.
The party has decided to field MPs Dharmendra Yadav and Akshay Yadav from the current seats of Badaun and Firozabad respectively. Incidentally, theĀ CongressĀ had on Thursday announcedĀ Saleem Iqbal ShervaniĀ as its candidate from Badaun.
The list was signed byĀ SP general secretaryĀ Ram Gopal Yadav.Ā The party left Mainpuri, described as its "safest" seat, for Mulayam Yadav, who is theĀ MPĀ from Azamgarh right now.
The formerĀ chief ministerĀ representedĀ MainpuriĀ in theĀ Lok SabhaĀ in 1996, 2004 and 2009. In the 2014 general election, the SP patriarch had contested from Azamgarh andĀ MainpuriĀ and won both. In Mainpuri, his victory margin was a massive 3.64-lakh votes.
The other SP candidates are:Ā Kamlesh KatheriaĀ (Etawah),Ā Bhailal KolĀ (Robertsganj) andĀ Shabbir Valmiki (Bahraich).
