Mumbai, June 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Suresh Dhas wins the Osmanabad-Beed-Latur Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) constituency seat. The result of the MLC seat was kept on hold earlier by Bombay High Court --Aurangabad division bench after the NCP nominated candidate Ashok Jagdale filed a petition against Urban Minister Ranjit Patil decision who disqualified ten corporators. As the decision was taken by the minister ahead of polling, the petition was filed by NCP stating that it will create confusion.

However, the division bench of Justices Sunil Kotwal and SV Gangapurwala in its recent hearing quashed the petition and asked to announce the results Today.

The battle for Osmanabad-Latur-Beed seat became interesting after Ramesh Karad of NCP had withdrawn his nomination at the last minute. Karad, a staunch supporter of BJP minister Pankaja Munde, had joined the NCP and was immediately declared the party candidate.

After Karad's withdrawal, the NCP extended its support to independent candidate Ashok Jagdale.

BJP has fielded former NCP minister Suresh Dhas for this biennial election.
