Panaji, January 14: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday laid the foundation stone for infrastructure works of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Vidhya Sankul at Cujira. Along with this, Parrikar inaugurated the Single Window portal of the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board.

As per to the state government the infrastructure works Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Vidhya Sankul would include the creation of new access road, improved parking lot and sewage treatment plant. The government stated that this new project after completion would help commuters to enjoy the tourist destinations of Goa. Earlier on Tuesday, Parrikar – along with State Information Technology minister Rohan Khaunte, tourism minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and other officials – chaired the Goa Investment Promotion Board (GIPB) meeting at his residence in Panaji. He discussed and approved projects before the board.

Parrikar had not been active and was not seen in public due to his health reasons – suffering from pancreatic cancer. He was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 14.
