Bulandshahr, March 18: Union Minister Mahesh Sharma is facing flak for making objectionable remarks against Congress President Rahul Gandhi, his sister and General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. A video has surfaced showing Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma calling Rahul Gandhi 'Pappu' and Priyanka Gandhi 'Pappi' during a public meet in Sikandrabad on Saturday.

"I was sitting in Parliament one row being the PM. The way he (Rahul Gandhi) winked, even I was floored. Now the Pappu says he wants to become a PM. So now Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav and now Pappu’s Pappi have also come. Wasn’t Priyanka a daughter of the nation before? Wasn’t she Congress’ daughter?” Sharma is seen saying in the video. The BJP leader also made offensive remarks against Mamata Banerjee and Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy in his bid to attack grand alliance of opposition parties. Derogatory Remarks Against Any Daughter Not Supported by BJP, Modi: Mahesh Sharma.

"If West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee performs kathak here, who is going to see her? If Deve Gowda plays flute here and Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy sings a song, who will listen to them?" Sharma said. The minister further said these parties had come together to fight the BJP because they "do not want a stable government". Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sharma went on to say that he will change the face of Pakistan.

"Modi will change the face of the country in the next five years. He will also change Pakistan’s face, mark my words," he said. On March 14, addressing a gathering in Bhajan Lal temple, Sharma asked how a Member of Parliament (MP) can fulfil wishes of people when God himself cannot. He had said the BJP-led government at the Centre is committed to building a Ram temple, while asserting that PM Modi is an expert in making strong decisions.
