In one of the most productive sessions of Parliament in the last 20 years, the lawmakers in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha passed a large number of Bills during Monsoon session 2019 of the 17th Lok Sabha. So far, both the Lower House and the Upper House have passed over 25 Bills combined since the Parliament Session began on June 17.

The BJP-led NDA government in the Centre is under pressure as it had brought several Ordinances in the February-March session. The Modi government is eyeing to convert at least 7-10 Ordinances, which also included the much-debated Triple Talaq Bill, into Acts within the first 45 days of the session, otherwise they would lapse. Monsoon Session of Parliament Extended Till August 7, Say Reports

On July 25, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi, and subsequently Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced that the ongoing session of the Parliament will be extended till August 7.
