New Delhi, April 24: In an 'informal and non-political' conversation with  Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke about a wide range of topics ranging from his family life, his friendships with political leaders, his sleeping pattern among others. In the interview, the Prime Minister revealed that he doesn't live with his family because he grew apart from them at a very early age. Being the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi stays at PM's official residence at  7 Race Course but none of his family members stay with him. Never Thought About Post Retirement Plans, Narendra Modi Tells Akshay Kumar.

During the interview, the Prime Minister revealed that he is not attached to anyone in his family but his mother, Heeraben Modi. “If I had left my home after becoming Prime Minister then I could have missed my family. But I left at a very young age and was never very attached to my family,” PM Modi said.  He further added saying that he had called his mother to spend some time with her, but he was not able to do that due to his hectic schedule.

Talking further with the Bollywood actor, Modi said he never thought of becoming Prime Minister because there was nothing in his background that could make him think like that. He said common people do not believe in such things, adding that thoughts (like being the Prime Minister one day) could only come to those who belong to a particular family with backgrounds.

In an interaction at Modi's 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence, the Prime Minister said he always wonders how the country loves him so much. He said that despite the political rivalry, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, sends kurtas and gifts them to him every year. The Prime Minister also revealed that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also used  to send him special sweets every year from Dhaka.
