Kejriwal was born on August 16, 1968, in Haryana's Rohtak. He went on to become a mechanical engineer from the Indian Institute of Management – Kharagpur. Kejriwal was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2006 for his anti-corruption work using the Right to Information Act. Kejriwal joined politics in 2012, and his party came to power in the next year. Though his government lasted less than two months, Kejriwal again became Delhi CM in 2015 after his party registered a thumping victory in the assembly elections.
