New Delhi, May 23: After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) landslide victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday evening addressed BJP workers at the party headquarters in New Delhi. PM Modi thanked the citizens of the country for their support to the BJP. He said, "I thank people of India for 'fakeer ki jholi'. He said that the entire world should recognise the power of Indian democracy. The Prime Minister added, "PM Narendra Modi: Since the country got independence, so many elections took place, but the maximum voting took place in this election, & that too in 40-42 degree temperature." He also congratulated BJP workers for this landslide victory.  PM Modi also congratulated all the elected MLA's of the fours states - Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh for winning the assembly elections.

PM Modi attacking opposition parties said that they were wearing a fake mask of secularism and it was during 2014 and 2019 that this mask of secularism was removed. During his speech said that his government will make India a strong nation.

The BJP-led NDA appears has crossed 350-mark, while the saffron party’s tally alone crosses more than 300 seats, which the highest by any political party in the last 30 years.

In 2019 elections also, the Congress failed to make an impression. The grand old party did not even touch the three-figure mark. Even, Congress President lost to Smriti Irani from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency. With this win, PM Modi will return to power for the second consecutive time. Various global leader including Pakistan PM Imran Khan, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese Premier Xi Jinping congratulated PM Modi.
