New Delhi, February 6: Priyanka Gandhi, the newly appointed general secretary of eastern Uttar Pradesh of Congress party on Wednesday accompanied husband Robert Vadra to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office for the latter's questioning. Gandhi dropped Vadra before heading to Congress headquarter to take charge as party General Secretary for eastern UP. A close look at the video released by ANI shows Vadra’s wife Priyanka Gandhi accompanying him, in a white Toyota Land Cruiser along with SPG personnel in tow. Gandhi dropped him outside the agency’s office in Jamnagar House in central Delhi and left in her convoy of vehicles.

This is for the first time that Vadra, the brother-in-law of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, is appearing before any probe agency in connection with alleged criminal charges of dubious financial dealings. Reports inform that Vadra entered the ED office at around 3:47 PM on Wednesday.

The money-laundering case relates to allegations in the purchase of a London-based property worth 1.9 million pounds, which is allegedly owned by Vadra. During the last week, a Delhi court had granted interim bail to Vadra till February 16. The Court has asked him to join probe and cooperate with the investigation being carried out by the central probe agency by appearing in person on February 6.
