New Delhi, August 30: Congress President Rahul Gandhi is unlikely to accept the invite for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event in Delhi from September 17 to 19. According to reports, senior Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, in the core group meeting, advised Rahul Gandhi to not accept the RSS program invitation. However, there is no confirmation on whether an invite has been sent to the Congress President and if it has been accepted.

Earlier this week, the Congress said that it had not received any invite for its president Rahul Gandhi to attend any RSS event in Delhi next month and would respond to questions on the matter only after an invitation is received. "I do not answer hypothetical, speculative questions... This is purely imaginary at the moment," Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi had said.

According to reports, the RSS may invite Gandhi for its event 'Future of Bharat' in Delhi between September 17 and 19. Reports say Sitaram Yechury of CPM has also been invited for the event. The RSS has said that they will invite all party leaders to the conclave.
