Baghpat, April 4: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat. Singh while taking a dig at the PM Modi said that the Prime Minister had never spoken lies, but he neither speaks the truth. Targeting PM Modi, on his claims of achievements in the last five years, Singh said, “This man is so smart and cunning that if he had gone to Sri Lanka, he would have told us that he is the one who killed Ravana because you see nobody has done anything apart from him.” The RLD chief also said that people have started to raise slogans like 'hai, hai Modi, bye, bye Modi' because the Centre was formulating "anti-farmer" policies.

Singh’s party RLD is contesting the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).  As per the seat-sharing pact, As per the seat-sharing pact, Mayawati-led BSP will contest 38 seats, whereas Akhilesh Yadav-led SP will fight on 37. The remaining three seats are left for the third alliance partner RLD. Singh is contesting from Muzaffarnagar and his son Jayant Chaudhary from Baghpat.

UP is going for polls in seven phases. The voting will take place from April 11 to May 19, and the result will be declared on May 23. There are a total of 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.
