New Delhi, June 7: Congress President Rahul Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday tweeted and condemned the horrific murder of a 3-year-old girl in Aligarh. On Thursday, June 6, the mutilated body of a 3-year-old girl was found in a garbage dump in Aligarh. Initial probe pointed that the killing was a fallout of a monetary dispute, said the police. The outrage has grown as people get to learn about the killing of the 3-year-old and victim Twinkle Sharma. Senior Superintendent of Police Akash Kulhari was quoted saying by news agency PTI on Thursday that the girl went missing from Tappal township on May 31 and on June 2, police found her mutilated body in a garbage dump near her house. “Post-mortem examination has not found any sign of sexual assault. Congress AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi tweeted, "The brutal murder in Aligarh is yet another inhuman, unspeakable crime against an innocent child. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain her parents must feel. What has become of us?"

Congress party President Rahul Gandhi wrote that he is "shocked and disturbed" by the incident and news of the crime. "How can any human being treat a child with such brutality?" asked Gandhi in his tweet.

The senior Superintendent of Police also added that the stringent National Security Act has been leveled against the alleged accused who have been arrested. Process has been initiated to take the case to fast track court, he said. Meanwhile, the victim’s father has demanded that other family members of the accused be arrested as the crime could not have been carried out without their knowledge and has threatened to go on a hunger strike demanding justice. Security around the Tappal township, 50 kilometers from Aligarh, has been increased following the incident to prevent the tension from escalating. (With PTI Inputs)
