Addressing the gathering, Udhayanidhi said: "Not even a drop of Cauvery water has been received. But has the Chief Minister opened his mouth about it? No. He is only concerned with filing 'false cases' against the DMK."

TVK, BJP Criticise Udhayanidhi Stalin

TVK MLA Rhevanth Charan condemned the remark, calling it "absolutely disgusting" and saying comments of that nature were unacceptable. He alleged that the incident reflected the DMK's political culture and accused the party of resorting to "cheap provocation" after its protest failed to gain wider attention.

Charan said: "This is precisely why the people of Tamil Nadu rejected you and confined you to the position you are in today. Even by Arivalayam's already abysmal standards, this is a new low."

The Tamil Nadu BJP also criticised Udhayanidhi's comments, describing them as "disgusting, obscene, vulgar and shameful." State BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy questioned DMK president MK Stalin's silence over the issue and demanded legal action against Udhayanidhi.

The TVK has written to the National Commission for Women (NCW), seeking action against Udhayanidhi over the remarks. In its complaint, the party described the comments as "deeply troubling" and alleged they "normalise the objectification and verbal harassment of women in public spaces."

The party further stated that the language "severely degrades the decorum expected of public figures" and sets "a dangerous precedent" for the treatment of women in public life. TVK urged the NCW to take cognisance of the speech and rally footage, issue a notice seeking an explanation and an unconditional public apology, and consider legal action under relevant provisions.

The controversy has added to the ongoing political rivalry between the DMK and TVK in Tamil Nadu. While opposition parties continue to demand action over the remarks, neither Udhayanidhi Stalin nor the DMK had issued a detailed public response at the time of publication.
