Mirabai Jayanti 2024 will be celebrated on Thursday, October 17. The purnima tithi will begin at 08:40 PM on October 16 and end at 04:55 PM on October 17, 2024.

Meerabai Jayanti Significance

Meerabai was one of the significant figure of the Vaishnava Bhakti movement and about 1300 poems written in praise of Lord Krishna are credited to her. This year, it will be the 526th birth anniversary of Meera Bai. Meera was a Rajput princess born about 1498 in Kudaki in Rajasthan. As per historians, Meerabai was a disciple of Guru Ravidas and accept popular beliefs which associate her with Sant Tulsidas and her interactions with Rupa Goswami in Vrindavan.

On this day, devotees honour her legacy by singing her bhajans, offering prayers, and discussing her life and contributions to the Bhakti movement. Meerabai’s fearless devotion, even in the face of societal opposition, is remembered as a symbol of unwavering faith and devotion to God.
