The change reduces the visa-free stay from the earlier 60 days to 30 days. The visa-exemption facility, however, continues for eligible Indian tourists.

Thailand Entry Rules for Indians: Passport Must Be Valid for 6 Months

Indian tourists travelling under the visa-exemption facility should carry a passport with at least six months' validity from the date of arrival in Thailand.

Travellers whose passports are nearing expiry should consider renewing them before their trip to avoid problems at immigration.

Confirmed Return Ticket Required for Thailand Travel

Tourists using the visa-exemption facility should have a confirmed return ticket. Travellers are advised to keep proof of their onward or return journey readily accessible when arriving in Thailand.

A one-way ticket may not be sufficient to demonstrate compliance with the entry requirements.

Hotel Booking and Travel Itinerary Needed

The Embassy advisory also states that travellers should have confirmed hotel bookings and clear travel plans and itineraries.

Tourists should therefore keep their hotel reservation confirmations and basic travel itinerary handy, either as printed documents or accessible on their devices.

Thailand Travel Cash Requirement for Indians

One of the key requirements highlighted in the advisory is the financial requirement.

Indian tourists using the visa-exemption facility should carry at least THB 20,000 in cash per passenger. This is approximately INR 57,899, based on the exchange rate cited in the advisory.

Travellers should arrange the required Thai baht in cash before reaching immigration. They should not assume that a credit card, debit card or digital payment will automatically be accepted as proof of sufficient funds.

Indian travellers must also complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering Thailand.

The TDAC applies to travellers entering Thailand by air, land or sea. The form can be completed within 72 hours before arrival.
