Large parts of India are experiencing an intense heatwave, with temperatures rising sharply across northern and central regions. In the national capital, Delhi recorded a high of 44.5 degrees Celsius on April 25, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), marking one of the hottest days of the season so far.
