Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, 66, was killed in a plane crash in Baramati on January 28, 2026. The veteran leader died alongside four others when their chartered Learjet 45 crashed while landing. Nephew of Sharad Pawar, Ajit was a powerhouse in state politics and served as a six-term Deputy CM. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
