The Modi government is urging a shift from LPG cylinders to Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to tackle fuel shortages. PNG offers a safer, continuous, and 5-14 per cent cheaper alternative delivered via pipelines. Consumers can apply through local distributors like IGL or GAIL. The "One Nation, One Gas Grid" initiative has now expanded to over 25,400 km.
