Major employee unions, including the NCJCM and AIDEF, have submitted proposals to the 8th Pay Commission demanding a minimum salary of INR 65,000-INR 69,000 and a fitment factor above 3.83. The groups are also pushing for 5-6 per cent annual increments and pension reforms. Intensive consultations are underway in New Delhi, with a final report due by mid-2027.
