India’s gig workers are holding a five-hour shutdown today to protest the recent fuel price hike, which unions say has severely impacted earnings. The Gig & Platform Service Workers Union (GIPSWU) is demanding a minimum service rate of INR 20 per kilometre, fuel compensation and revised delivery charges as petrol and diesel prices rise sharply across the country.
