A five-month-old infant died after his mother allegedly tried to cross the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Panvel. The mother, Suvarna Kale, was struck by a car while carrying the child on her back. Police have filed an FIR against her for unauthorised pedestrian entry on the high-speed corridor. She remains hospitalised with injuries.
