A 72-year-old Chembur doctor was defrauded of INR 10 lakh by cyber criminals posing as Mahanagar Gas Limited staff. The scammers used a 'bill not paid' modus operandi to trick the victim into downloading a malicious link, gaining access to his bank account. Chembur police have registered a case under the BNS and IT Act as they investigate the digital theft.
