According to reports, the girl’s father, who works as a confectioner, was preparing gulab jamuns along with other workers for a wedding scheduled for May 12 when the accident took place in Gorakhpur. The child was reportedly playing near the cooking area when she slipped and fell into the large container of hot sugar syrup placed on a fire.
